Guillermo del Toro y «La forma del agua» alcanzan 13 nominaciones al Oscar

El cineasta mexicano Guillermo del Toro se colocó más cerca del Oscar esta mañana al recibir "La forma del agua" (The Shape of Water, 2017), su más reciente película, 13 nominaciones a los codiciados Premios de la Academia de Hollywood, entre ellas como mejor película, director, actriz, guión original y diseño de producción. La película de Del toro se convierte así en la gran favorita, aunque debe competir con las otras aspirantes al premio a la mejor película: "Dunkerque" (8 nominaciones), "Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri" (7),"Phantom Thread" (6), "Darkest Hour" (6), "Lady Bird" (5), "Call Me By Your Name" (4) , "Get Out" (4) y "The Post" (2) .

Del Toro buscará obtener el Oscar de mejor director como antes ya lo hicieron sus compatriotas y amigos Alfonso Cuarón y Alejandro González Iñárritu. Sin embargo, el tapatío enfrenta una dura competencia, donde figuran pesos pesados como Christopher Nolan con "Dunkirk" y Paul Thomas Anderson con “Phantom Thread”, además de Jordan Peele (“Get Out”, )
y Greta Gerwig (“Lady Bird”).

La gala de la 90ª edición del Oscar se celebrará el próximo domingo 4 de marzo, presentada por segundo año consecutivo por Jimmy Kimmel.
